Aeron Bergman and Alejandra Salinas artist talk

Aeron Bergman (born Detroit 1971) and Alejandra Salinas (born La Rioja, Spain 1977) are artists. They currently live and work in Norway where Bergman is head professor of digital, sound and installation at the Art Academy of Oslo. The pair have made major installations at art centers such as Centre d’Arte Santa Monica in Barcelona, Taipei Fine Art Museum, ICC Tokyo, CCCB in Barcelona, CAC Geneva and the Serralves Museum in Porto. They have also done sound performances around the world such as at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Knitting Factory in New York, De Appel in Amsterdam, and the Centro de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. Their work won an Award of Distinction in digital music at the Prix Ars Electronica in Austria. They direct the sound and art editions publisher Lucky Kitchen, founded in 1997 in New York City. Their sound work has been published by editors and labels such us Pork Salad Press, Onomatopee, Orthlorng Musork, Softl Music, Tomlab, Kning Disk, En/Of, and Diskono.

Aeron Bergman earned a masters degree in History of Art from the University of Toronto and a second masters in fine art from New York University.

Alejandra Salinas studied fine art and film at the Ontario College of Art and Design, the School of Visual Arts in New York, and earned her MFA at Valand Academy of Art in Sweden.

Presentations and lectures

Atelier Nord organizes a series of lectures, presentation and debates related to unstable art forms, such as electronic and new media art. The goal of this series is to broaden and deepen the field and it is open and free to the public. This event usually takes place at Atelier Nord, Wergelandsveien 17, Oslo (Kunstnernes Hus).
