Pre-workshops-preparation:
Participating artists are welcome to choose from the following
pre-preparation topic suggestions for presentation on day two of the
workshop: and further active elaboration, or to offer ideas for alternative topics:
1) Selection of a well-defined portion of the electromagnetic
spectrum; for example, low frequency RF, Microwaves, Ultra-violet,
Infra-Red and Gamma-Rays. Acquaintance with properties, for example
consequences of wavelength, power and ownership, and with intervention
and measurement devices.
2) A topic of own choice within the context of the workshops excluding own work.
Day One:
Introductions to Anart, the workshop, key devices, and all
participants
Lunch
Preparation of theory and practise for today’s fieldtrip in the city
including an examination of emissions architecture, transmission,
reception, antenna and artistic context.
First city field trip with the EM sniffers or probes. This
pseudo-scientific field trip will make use of all manner of measuring
and recording equipment
Discussion of field trip experience and ideas
Day Two:
Full spectrum part I:
Presentation of pre-workshop prep by participants
within the context of the full EM spectrum; a mapping also of the
spectrum to art, devices, techniques and technologies.
Lunch
Second field trip outside the city using VLF and all recording
equipment. Grill (weather permitting)
Day Three:
An introduction to baudline software to examine the material
recorded during the first and second field trips.
An examination of recorded material within the context of artistic
work with the EM spectrum.
Lunch
Full spectrum part II:
Presentation of pre-workshop prep by participants
within the context of the full EM spectrum; a mapping also of the
spectrum to art, devices, techniques and technologies.
Investigation of artistic ideas towards experiments, interventions and projects.

Day Four:
Discussion with Armin Medosch and Honor Hager
Lunch
Third field trip with probes and new equipment. eg. Geiger counter.
First experiments, interventions and project sketches within the city.
Day Five:
An overview of the workshop experience and discussion of further artistic
and technical possibilities within the workshop context.
Lunch
Construction of in-city sketches and projects.
