5th-9th October a group of 14 nordic artists specially selected from the ke∂ja Oslo - Dance and New Media seminar participants, and by Atelier Nord, will take part in a five day lab with Dr. Johannes Birringer. The lab is entitled ‘Performance on the Edges: Physical / Digitial Media Environments’ and has been developed in relation to the theme of the ke∂ja seminar. Birringer is also holding the opening lecture of the ke∂ja seminar on dance and new media which takes place from 10th to 12th of October at Dansens Hus Norway, KHiO- Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and AHO, Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
Johannes Birringer is a choreographer and media artist. As artistic director of the Houston-based AlienNation Co. (http://www.aliennationcompany.com), he has created numerous dance-theatre works, video installations and digital projects in collaboration with artists in Europe, the Americas, and China. His most recent production, the digital oratorio “Corpo, Carne e Espírito”, premiered in Brasil in 2008. He is founder of Interaktionslabor Göttelborn in Germany (http://interaktionslabor.de) and director of DAP-Lab at Brunel University, West London, where he is a Professor of Performance Technologies in the School of Arts. His new book, “Performance, Technology and Science”, was released by PAJ Publications in 2008.
The selected artists are: Helle Bach and Laura Navndrup Pedersen (DK), William Iles og Sini Haapalinna  (FI), Helle Siljeholm and Sarah Christophersen (NO),  Katrín  Gunnarsdóttir and Katrín Dagmar Beck (FI), Charlotta Ruth and Dominique Grünbühel (SE/AUS), Tone Gellein (NO) and Atle Larsen. Dance Information Norway collaborates with Atelier Nord who will be the host for the lab.
The workshop will have an open atelier 9th of October, at Atelier Nord, more details to be announced.
