Concert with Joakim Blattmann and Ricardo del Pozo

Joakim Blatmann’s work with sound spans from sculptural installation and composition to audiovisual works and concerts. Acoustic ecology and objects inherent acoustic properties are recouping themes in his practice. In his live performances, processed field recordings, electronics, drones and string instruments are often central elements.

Blattmann received his MA from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art in 2012. His work has been shown at Østre – Hus for lydkunst og elektronisk musikk and ACUD KINO with Clemens Wilhelm (DE), AMRO (AT), Sandefjord Artists Society and Supermarket Stockholm with RAM Galleri.

Ricardo del Pozo attended the Bergen Academy of Art and and Design. his practice is centred on digital, real-time processes that address the formal properties of pre-recorded video. He explores the inherent qualities of images. With the help of generative processes, he manipulates the formal qualities of pre-recorded material, repurposing video as living painting.

Previous works include “Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant Jésus” performed with Håkon Austbø on piano, as well as a corresponding video based on Olivier Messiaen’s colour compositions. The performance took place in Kulturkirken Jacob, Oslo, 2013.

Del Pozo and Blattmann curate the concert series Spaces Speak. The series focuses on interactions between sound and image. Spaces Speak is a realised with support from Not an and RAM Galleri.
