Atelier Nord is happy to announce that we have received funding from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration for one of our main projects Creating Public Communities (CpC).
The award amounts to 280.000,- NOK and makes it possible for us to offer 8 information and communication technology (ICT) workshops for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers during the summer and the fall of 2011. So far this year we have arranged one workshop for Brenneriveien Reception Center and this week we have a workshop at Nesbyen Reception Center.
Parallell to the workshops we are producing the documentary project Points of View. Points of View is a multi-voiced documentary project that gives asylum seekers an opportunity to document their stories and to express themselves in their own voices. The workshop participants are taught to use digital media, photo and video, and to author their own stories. The results will be published through the project web site http://cpcproject.net and selected public arenas.
