Joost Rekveld Residency at Atelier Nord ANX

Jost Rekveld will have a residency at Atelier Nord ANX from June 22nd to July 12th, 2015. The residency is supported by Arts Council Norway.

During his stay Rekveld will be working on the development of a prototype of the installation #61. The work will consist of an eye-tracking system and a monitor displaying images generated in real time. By tracking the gaze of one or more participants the installation will allow users awarness of their own eye movements – the system will for example be able to change the portions of the image that are outside of the direct focus of participants. He will present the project this autumn, date to be announced.

In addition to the section of the project which will take place in Oslo the project will also include stays in India and The Netherlands.

Joost Rekveld is motivated by exploring what we can learn through dialog with machines. He has previously shown projects at the V2_institute for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam and the ICA and Tate Modern in London.
