Som en del av Only Connect Festival of Sound vil Biosphere (Geir Jenssen) fremføre et stykke spesielt komponert for Subharchord. Urpremieren på stykket fant sted i februar i år under Club Transmediale i Berlin med flere hundre tilhørere tilstede. Subharchordet som for anledningen er flyttet fra Ringve Museum til Teknisk Museum, er en av syv elektroniske lydgeneratorer som ble laget i Øst-Tyskland på 60-tallet. Filmskaperen Ina Pillat vil vise klipp fra sin dokumentar om Subharchord og innvie publikum i historien rundt dette spesielle instrumentet, en historie som har paralleller til den kalde krigen og norsk eksperimentell musikk. Fra 11. juni blir Subharchord å se i utstillingen Musikkmaskiner på Teknisk Museum.

As a part of the Only Connect Festival of Sound Biosphere presents a piece especially composed for the Subharchord. The first performance of the composition took place during Club Transmediale in February to a full house at the former GDR broadcasting studios in Berlin. The Subharchord is for this occasion relocated from Ringve Museum in Trondheim to the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology in Oslo. The instrument is one out of seven sound generators made in Eastern Germany in the 60ies. Film maker Ina Pillat will show clips from a documentary on the Subharchord, and introduce the audience to the history connected to this unique instrument. More information about Subharchord.
