Performance Evening with Felleskassen

Felleskassen was established in 2014 and consists of visual artist Tonje Alice Madsen and performance artist, composer and musician Camilla Vatne Barratt-Due. The duo has show their performances at a number of international festivals and institutions, including CTM/Transmediale Vorspeil and FASE in Berlin, Eufònic Urbà in Barcelona and Nikolaj Kunsthall in Copenhagen.

The silent film performance To be, to do (2015) is based on a private family photo album which has been transcribed into a musical score; a film of cropped images presented in a scrolling movement. Each picture serves as a note and binds the entire roll of images together as a musical structure. The music is performed on the accordion next to screen, executing the score as it appears. To be, to do addresses the passing of time and lived life, as a reconstruction of present moments.
