Cancelled: Kaia Hugin in Conversation with Jeremy Welsh

Join us for a conversation between artist Kaia Hugin and curator and educator Jeremy Welsh on the occasion of the group show Infinitesimal Gradations. Hugin and Welsh will focus on Hugins series of video works Motholic Mobbles, which Hugin has worked continously on since 2008. The series combines the bodily excertions of performance art with a filmatic language that references a variety of cinematic genres. The lastes itteration of the series, Motholic Mobble part 11 (2022), premiered as part of Infinitesimal Gradations.

Kaia Hugin (b. 1975) primarily works with performance-based video and often integrates elements of contemporary dance and climbing in her work. She graduated from Bergen Academy of Art and Design in 2011 and currently lives and works in Drøbak.
Jeremy Welsh (b. 1954) is a Bergen-based artist and was a professor at the art academies of Bergen and Trondheim between 1990 – 2020. His works have been shown internationally since the early eighties. He has curated numerous exhibitions in Europe and North America and has written extensively on electronic art.
