Kaia Hugin in Conversation with Jeremy Welsh

Time: Thursday 31st of March, 17:00.
Location: Atelier Nord, Olaf Ryes plass 2 (entrance Sofienberggata).

On the occasion of the group show Infinitesimal Gradations we would like to welcome you to an artist talk featuring Kaia Hugin and the curator of the exhibition Jeremy Welsh.

The talk will center on Hugin’s video series Motholic Mobbles which she has worked on continuously since 2008. The series mixes the bodily exertions typical of performance art with a filmatic language referencing a variety of genres. The latest iteration of the project, Motholic Mobble part 11 (2022), is show for the first time as part of Infinitesimal Gradations.

Kaia Hugin (b. 1975) primarily works with performance-based video and often integrates elements of contemporary dance and climbing in her work. She graduated from Bergen Academy of Art and Design in 2011 and currently lives and works in Drøbak.

Jeremy Welsh (b. 1954) is a Bergen-based artist and was a professor at the art academies of Bergen and Trondheim between 1990 – 2020. His works have been shown internationally since the early eighties. He has curated numerous exhibitions in Europe and North America and has written extensively on electronic art.
