Open Call 2026
Each year, Atelier Nord opens one exhibition period in our program to applications, reviewed by a jury. Last year, the jury selected Amber Ablett’s project (link), which will be exhibited at Atelier Nord in spring 2025. The year before, the jury chose Qi Tan‘s project, which opened in November 2024. Previous exhibitions through this initiative include exhibitions by Yafei Qi, GERANIUM DREAM (Elise Mcmillan), Kim Hankyul and Victoria Durnak.
About Atelier Nord
Atelier Nord is a platform for contemporary art with a focus on media art. We host a dynamic program at our venue in Olaf Ryes plass, Oslo.
Who Can Apply?
The exhibition is based on an open call, but projects should fall within the fields of media, sound, or video art. Applicants must live or work in Norway. Projects that have not been exhibited previously will be prioritized.
Application Requirements
A concise project description (max. 3000 characters).
CV.
Documentation of previous projects (PDF, website links, or video).
A simple production budget/cost estimate.
Financial Terms
NOK 20,000 artist fee.
Up to NOK 10,000 for production costs, including transport/travel expenses.
Additional funding can be applied for through Kulturrådet and other grant schemes.
What We Provide
A 4-week exhibition period, including the opening.
Installation assistance.
Exhibition documentation.
Promotion and outreach.
Opportunities for events, such as artist talks, during the exhibition period.
Application Deadline
The deadline is Monday, 13 January 2025, at 14:00. The exhibition period will take place in March and April 2026. The jury’s decision will be announced by the end of March 2025.
